about me

I write. At night I sleep. I work. Parts of my work include writing, but not sleeping.

I married in 2003. My wife and I, in an attempt to forge some new sort of family, decided to each take the other's name in a hyphenate that requires patience and breath to pronounce. At first it was rather cumbersome, but it's beginning to flow more lightly off the tongue.

At times, the wife and I stop and ask ourselves if everything is just too fucking complicated. Then we laugh. We talk about the ways we would change the world if only we knew where to start. Laundry perhaps.

In the late '90s I published a string of small 'zines in San Diego, one by the name of Destroyed by Madness and the later called Skyscraper which was co-created with Jacob Peanut Butter Mouth and the eternal inspiration of Wrecka Stow. Neither reached much of an audience. If you remember either, I apologize, unless, of course, you were fond of what we created. That last project has no relation to the much larger 'zine that is still published by that name. As befit the time and place, I used a pseudonym, which I retain in an updated form.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

about the site

The site is a compilation of a selection of writings, thoughts and curiosities that I hope will provide respite from a reality too quickly becoming tragi-comic. Or perpahps they will pull you further down the black tunnel of dispair that keeps cable television providers in Guccis and Cadillacs.

If you seek to place blame, I point a pale boney finger at zoe who, during a recent visit, made a snide comment about my lack of sharing - artistically. I told him I had a 'hidden' site on the back end of a corporate site -- accessible only to those 'in the know.' He replied, 'That's a great way to grow, hide your work where no one can see it.' And then he struck me with the backside of his hand. Right in the face.

I had it in my head that the word was sophoric, but that really didn't look right.
